Today everyone has their own website and we no longer debate anything but the best way to develop them. Tomorrow, we believe that everyone will have their own web API, preferably RESTful, and websites will rely directly on web APIs, as Twitter implemented in its new architecture.
In this presentation, we will explain how over 10 years, REST has transformed our vision of the Web, positioning it in relation to HTTP, RPC, MVC, OO or CRUD, and presenting the ecosystem of web APIs whose emergence it enabled. Finally, we will see how Restlet Framework allows the Java developer to easily expose and consume web APIs.
