The way of creating “rich client” applications in Java has fundamentally not evolved for more than a decade. The use of Swing is no longer fashionable, whether functionally and visually, apart from the use of third-party libraries. JavaFX 2 is announced as the successor to Swing and has many advantages that will be presented to you during this presentation. We will discuss what we know as Swing developers, what the competition offers, and discover through a live coding session the potential of JavaFX 2.
